Revamp your caravan with some simple DIY interior projects. Here are some of our favourite DIY projects you can do to revamp the interior of your caravan ahead of your next trip.
Macramé wall hanging
A macramé wall hanging is the perfect addition to a boho-inspired caravan interior. While it isn’t super easy to make, the commitment is worth the outcome. All you need is a piece of driftwood or dowel and some rope or cord. We love this tutorial from Ohello Collective via realestate.com.au – the founder of Ohello Collective, Cat, runs you through all the knots and steps you need to create this artwork.
Create your own throw rug
Rugging up on a deck chair or on your caravan lounge with a good book is the perfect way to unwind after a busy day, and rugging up under a throw rug you created is even better! Spotlight have some great patterns for creating a DIY throw rug that are suitable for a whole range of skill levels, depending on the look you are going for.
Stick your travel photos or artwork on the walls
Creating your own prints is the perfect way to brighten up your caravan. You can use anything from old travel photos, kids’ artwork or ordering prints online. Then, all you have to do is frame them, pop on some Velcro picture hanging strips and stick them on the wall.
DIY bunting
Bunting is a simple and inexpensive way of revitalising your caravan interiors. All you need is a range of material in different colours and patterns, some bias binding and a sewing machine. Handmade Kids have a great template and instructions that you can follow.
Make your own tablecloth
This is another super easy DIY project that can brighten up the inside of your caravan and all you need is a piece of fabric that fits over your table (with a bit of overhang) and a sewing machine or needle and thread. Firstly, measure your table and add your drop length to each side. Then select your fabric and matching thread. You can either hem the tablecloth by hand or use a sewing machine. The Spruce Crafts have some great tips for hemming your tablecloth.
